After several days of being ill and lounging on my futon like a helpless blob of lame, some packages arrived via the ever reliable US Post Office. Yippie!
First, I received some insanley yummy and pretty granola from the Queen herself. This is White Chocolate Raspberry Granola, and it will definitely make your morning, noon, or night pure bliss.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Packages from you always brighten my mood and make me smile!
Moving on:
Alright, I have a confession to make: I am a serious cookie muncher. It’s beyond comprehension. And it’s okay because cookies are good me (and everybody else too!). You can imagine my elation when I received a package from Jessica, the author behind Awesome. Vegan. Rad. When I found out that she had never tasted Tings, we arranged a package swap – baked goods for Tings and treats. Well, Jessica was so sweet and sent me a mountain of goodies:
This lovely array of treats include (the photo displays only a portion of what I received, seriously, there is a lot of yumminess on my kitchen table right now):
Autumn Muffins (recipe from Vegan Dad)
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies (recipe adapted from Eat, Drink, & Be Vegan)
Lemon Poppyseed Cookies (also from ED & BV)
Let me just say that Tim and I dug into these as soon I stepped in the door after work. We pushed aside the careful packaging materials, pried the lids off of the containers, arranged them nicely on a plate, and sampled away, before dinner! Everything is moist, chewy, and delicious! Jessica is a super baker!!! The muffins are hearty and filling; the chocolate cookies are perfectly sweet with yummy bits of chocolate and nuts; and the lemon poppyseed cookies are zesty and buttery. These are lovely fall treats that will pair nicely with a mug of steaming tea.
Speaking of tea, look what else was in the package:
Teabag Tweezers!!!! What a nifty invention, right? I am so used to wrapping my teabags around a spoon. These will protect my mitts from burns. I drink tea often, so this is an awesome gift. And the best part? They are made from a beautiful cherry wood that comes from trees near the Allegheny National Forest. I grew up in Pennsylvania and went to university near the Allegheny. In fact, I did my very first backpacking trip in the Allegheny!
Also included in the package:
Cranberry Mustard. Tim had this on a walnut beet burger for his dinner and when I asked him to describe it he replied with: “It’s good. Sweet and a little sharp”. Translation = he likes it! Once I am feeling 100% I will be trying this on sammies, in pitas, and on crackers. It smells amazing.
Thanks so much Jessica, for all the treats! They made my day and Tim’s too. I feel the need to fill your tupperwares with baked treats and send them back to you… All in good time…

you are spoiled! but you deserve it, so it’s all good.
