Miscellaney

Goodness… I really am out of sync. I blame the heat of summer and my lack of motivation to use a computer at home after spending my workday in front of one. It’s cool though, I am still eating food and keeping busy! This is a sloppy post of whatever photos were worthy of sharing…

First, mailpeople make me happy because they deliver surprises like this:

Thanks Celine, for the lovely wee Cakespy pins and card. My day was dandy awesome after I discovered these in my mailbox. See how crazy cute those cupcakes are?! My favorite is the one rushing down the stairs…

Second, I love vegan milkshakes. Portland is lucky because we have the recent addition of a vegan milkshake/smoothie/juice cart called Sip. Tim and I treated ourselves last weekend to a Cookies-and-Cream milkshake topped off with a Newman-O. This lil’ trailer is too cute and the owners are so kind. If you live in Portland (or anywhere, really) and have not been to Sip, hurry up and visit them! The pictures speak for themselves:

And, in the spirit of vegan milkshakes, I let Tim take my picture (a very rare occasion). He insisted I pose in front of the porta-potty with the satellite dish on top. Who am I to argue with his photographic eye? I didn’t check the pooper for a TV, but one can only assume so much…

Switching now to a completely different subject: food. Below is a photo of my new favorite pasta meal- Lemony Cashew Basil Pesto from Eat, Drink & Be Vegan. Delicious. I had a tummy upset after eating more than I should have; it really is that tasty. Since basil is in season at local farmer’s markets, now is the time to make this meal.

Finally… today is my younger sister’s birthday!!!!!! Hooray for getting old. She is 27. Happy Birthday Julie! This is an older photo (maybe 24 years ago) of us, when we used to like each other (hahaahahaaaa!), it’s actually one of my favorite pictures of us:
